Soften the Eyes
Panoramic vision, the ancient off switch
Vision science, and every horizon ever watched
Screens hold the eyes in a narrow, hunting focus, and the nervous system follows. Look up, let your gaze go wide and soft, take in the whole scene at once without landing anywhere. The body reads wide eyes as safety. Two minutes at a window is enough.
How to do it
- 1Look up from whatever you were focused on
- 2Let the gaze spread wide, no target
- 3Take in the edges of your vision
- 4Breathe slowly while the eyes stay soft
