Forest Bathing
Shinrin-yoku, the full immersion
Japanese practice, at home in Australian bush
Three unhurried hours in real forest, moving slowly, sitting often, going nowhere. This is the practice the Japanese named and the research followed. Old bush does most of the work; your only job is to be porous to it.
How to do it
- 1Choose real bush, old growth if you can reach it
- 2Leave the phone in the car or on flight mode
- 3Move at a quarter of walking pace, sit every twenty minutes
- 4Let the forest set the agenda for three hours
