Fifteen Minutes Among Trees
Forest bathing at lunchtime scale
Shinrin-yoku, scaled to a workday
Find the greenest place within walking distance and be in it slowly. This is not a walk with a destination. Stand near a tree. Listen for layers of sound. Breathe like there's no queue for the air. Fifteen minutes of this changes what the rest of the day is made of.
How to do it
- 1Find trees: a park, a reserve, a leafy street
- 2Slow to half pace once you arrive
- 3Use every sense deliberately, one at a time
- 4Stand still for the last two minutes
